Testing the water!

Let me introduce myself. I am a most importantly a Mum to two boys but my recent passion is quilting.  I thought a blog may help me connect with other like minded people and give me inspiration for new projects. I struggle with the frumpy image that is given to quilting and certainly don't feel that I  fit into that box. As I type this though I realise that I am sporting a fetching cardigan which I probably shouldn't go out of the house wearing.

The internet has been invaluable to me while I learn the techniques and tips which make quilting such a pleasurable experience. Please bear with me though as writing is not my strong point.
This is my most recent project. A friend asked me to make two quilts for her sons. They love Minecraft - if you have missed this craze then think yourself pretty lucky, although it does keep my eldest quiet for hours so I shouldn't dis it too much. It is similar to Lego but on the P/C, tablet etc.     I created the pattern myself as it is quite straightforward. I kept the quilting to a minimum as I was pushed for time and the pattern didn't lend itself to be heavily covered.I am very self critical and wish that I had moved the black panels up by one square but the boys love them and that is the main thing. Any thoughts?

  1. Yes, the most important thing is that they like them!
Thanks for the comment on my blog. I wanted to reply, but it seems you are a "no-reply blogger." I highly recommend making your email address available so other people can contact you. Regarding your question about watermarks, yes I'm a big fan. It's not a guarantee, but it makes it a bit more of a pain for someone to copy and use a photo as if it were your own. Some people don't care for them though. Everyone is different! Welcome to blogland!

  2. Hi Nicole, I had no idea I was one of those!! I am so new to this I will have a look and see how to change this as I really value others comments. I do like the idea of watermarking as everyone puts a lot of effort into their creations and it is a shame if others take the credit.
